How the Sweet Filter geometry works
LeBrew makes two 78 mm sets, Filter and ESP, and the difference is in the cutting zone. This Filter version has a slightly larger triangular grinding zone and shallower exit channels, so beans are reduced more gradually before they leave the burrs. That gives a cleaner, more transparent cup suited to pour over. The ESP version uses a tighter zone and deeper channels for finer, more controlled espresso grinding.
Despite the name, this set is not filter-only. Owners who use it for both report plenty of espresso range, with more balance and clarity than the stock burrs, particularly with modern light roasts.
An upgrade for the Sculptor 078 and 078S
The Sculptor 078 and 078S come with capable multipurpose burrs, and this set is aimed at owners who want more clarity and sweetness without changing grinder. It fits both models; LeBrew does not list any other 78 mm grinders for it. If you are still choosing a grinder, the Timemore Sculptor 078S is the model this set was made for.
Take your time when swapping burrs, follow Timemore’s removal steps, and re-zero the grinder afterwards. Expect the cup to settle over the first kilo or two as the new edges bed in.
Like the rest of the HyperBurrs range, the burrs are CNC machined from DC53 cold work tool steel (Cr8Mo2SiV), hardened to 60 to 62 HRC and coated with a roughly 3 µm layer of TiAlN.
