A small glass server for everyday pour-over
The Aurora Flute Glass Coffee Server is a tinted glass server with straight vertical ribs pressed into the body. It holds 500 ml in normal use, which covers one large brew or two smaller cups, and 625 ml if filled to the brim. At 120 mm tall with a 75 mm opening it takes up little space on the counter, and a cone dripper sits on the rim while you brew.
The handle and the pouring lip are both glass, so there are no plastic or metal parts to discolour or come loose. The server is sold without a lid.
Why the ribs
Fluted glass is an old technique for giving a plain vessel some visual weight, and the ribs also give a more secure grip than a smooth body when the glass is wet. The three tints behave differently with coffee in them: Amber is the darkest and gives the strongest colour, Champagne is a pale golden tint that stays close to clear, and Smoke is a neutral grey that shows the coffee colour fairly true. If you want the server to match a dripper, the Aurora Flute Glass Dripper comes in the same three colours.
Care
Rinse after use and wash by hand with a soft brush or cloth; the ribs are shallow and clean easily. As with any glass server, avoid sudden temperature changes such as rinsing a hot server under cold water, and do not place it directly on a hob or hot plate.
