Product details
The Profitec GO 2.0 is a compact 58 mm single boiler espresso machine built in Bammental, Germany. It takes up 21 cm of counter width, runs a PID-controlled brass boiler behind a ring brew group, and is ready to brew about 7 minutes from a cold start.
The 2.0 revision leaves the hydraulics of the original GO alone and rebuilds everything you touch: an OLED display, two programmable brew buttons with built-in shot timers, selectable pre-infusion, a guided cleaning and descaling program, and hot water through the steam wand for Americanos and tea. Five finishes: black, red, yellow, blue and brushed stainless steel.
- Boiler: Insulated brass, 0.3 L, PID controlled with adjustable offset
- Brew group: 58 mm ring group, bottomless portafilter with single and double silicone spouts included
- Controls: OLED display, two time-programmable brew buttons, selectable pre-infusion, ECO mode and on/off timer
- Heat-up: Approx. 7 minutes (Fast Heat-Up mode)
- Water tank: 2.8 L with removable lid, in-tank Brita filter cartridge included
- Size and weight: 210 × 362 × 381 mm (W × D × H), 12.9 kg

A single boiler that behaves like a bigger machine
The GO has been Profitec’s entry point since 2023, and the 2.0 keeps what worked. Same 58 mm ring brew group, same insulated brass boiler, same vibration pump with an externally accessible screw for setting brew pressure. Heat-up runs a fast routine: the boiler climbs past brew temperature, the display prompts a flush through the portafilter, and you are pulling shots in roughly 7 to 8 minutes rather than the 20 or more an E61 machine needs.
Independent testing by Kaffeemacher in May 2026 measured a 3.65 °C temperature window across 14 back-to-back extractions, and 0.088 kWh for a cold start plus one espresso. Both figures are unusually good for a single boiler, and they are the practical reason this machine suits someone who wants one or two good shots a day without leaving a machine warming for half an hour.
What changed from the original GO
The update is software and interface, not plumbing. If you already own a first-generation GO, the espresso it makes will not taste different. What changes is the daily handling: the old single push-button that ran hot is gone, the display is easier to read, and several features that used to be reserved for Profitec’s more expensive models are now here.

Who it suits, and who it does not
This is a machine for espresso and Americano drinkers who make the occasional cappuccino. A single boiler heats either brew water or steam, not both, so a milk drink means brewing first, waiting about 30 seconds for steam, frothing, then letting the boiler come back down. The 2.0 speeds that return up by refilling the boiler with cold water automatically, but the two-step workflow remains. If you make several milk drinks back to back most mornings, a heat exchanger or dual boiler is the better fit.
Worth knowing: the timed brew buttons dose by seconds, not by weight or flow, so grind changes will change what lands in the cup. Keep a scale under the cup while dialling in. Also purge the wand before frothing, as roughly 25 ml of condensate collects in the steam path.
