What it is

The Flair PRO portafilter is the stainless steel basket that holds the coffee puck in the PRO brew head. It is the same part that ships with the PRO 2 and PRO 3, offered on its own so you can keep a spare or replace a worn one. Flair’s PRO portafilter is bottomless by design: brew it naked to watch the extraction, or fit the removable spout when you want to split a double into two cups.

Why a second portafilter

On a Flair, the portafilter comes out of the brew head after every shot and has to be knocked out, rinsed and repacked before the next one. With a second portafilter you can grind, distribute and tamp the next dose while the first shot is still running, then swap them over. For two people in the morning, or when dialling in a new coffee, that cuts the gap between shots to the time it takes to refill the cylinder. Compatibility

This portafilter fits the PRO brew head only: the original PRO, the PRO 2 and the PRO 3. It does not fit the Classic, NEO Flex, Signature, 49 PRO or Flair 58. It is also not an upgrade path for a “PRO-enabled” Classic or Signature, which needs the complete PRO brew head rather than the portafilter alone. What is and is not included

You get the stainless steel portafilter body. The removable stainless steel spout and the PRO dispersion screen are separate parts and are sold separately as Flair spares. If your existing portafilter is fine and you only want the second-shot workflow, you can move the screen and spout between the two, but most people end up wanting a screen in each.
