What this part is for

The load bin is the rectangular hopper that sits on top of the Fellow Ode Brew Grinder, where you drop your beans before grinding. Fellow designed the Ode around single-dose grinding rather than bulk storage, so the load bin is intentionally small: it holds up to 80 g of whole beans, roughly enough for a 10–12 cup batch. If your original bin has cracked, discoloured, or gone missing, this is the same part that shipped with the grinder.

Gen 1 vs. Gen 2 load bins

This replacement fits the original Ode Brew Grinder (Gen 1) only. The Gen 2 Ode uses a redesigned load bin with steeper interior angles for smoother bean feeding and a larger 100 g capacity. The two are not interchangeable, so check which version of the Ode you own before ordering. If your Ode has the Gen 2 Brew Burrs or anti-static technology, you need the Gen 2 load bin instead.

Installation

Replacing the load bin takes a few minutes and a 2 mm Allen wrench (hex key). Unplug the grinder, remove the four hex screws at the corners of the existing bin, lift it off, and set the new one in place with the Fellow logo facing the grind dial. The factory screws use Loctite thread locker, so they may feel stiff at first. Use the short end of the Allen key to start each screw, then switch to the long end for leverage. A clicking sound during removal is normal: that is the Loctite releasing, not anything breaking.
