Product details
A fixed, single-profile mineral concentrate made with TANAT, a Paris roaster known for light, clean roasting. Lucid 2.1 is built for clarity rather than body: it sharpens flavour separation and aftertaste definition, and suits light roasts and washed coffees more than dense, chocolatey ones. It is dosed lower than the rest of the APAX range, so a 20 mL bottle goes a long way.
- Volume: 20 mL (this profile is not made in 100 mL)
- Type: Fixed profile, not a blendable concentrate
- Dosing: 1.5 to 2.5 g/L in brew water, or 1 to 2 drops per 200 mL cup
- Aimed at: Clarity, aftertaste definition, light roasts
- Not for use inside espresso machines

Questions? We are here to help
TANAT is a Paris roaster with a light, transparency-focused roasting style. Lucid 2.1 was developed with APAX LAB as a water profile matched to that style: rather than adding weight or sweetness, it is built to sharpen definition and let origin character separate out clearly in the cup.
What the profile is aimed at
APAX describe the target as clarity and separation of flavour, a precise aftertaste, and a bright, lifted cup. In practice that makes it a better match for washed and light-roasted coffees, where the point is articulation rather than body. If your coffee is already delicate and you want more of it, this is the direction. If it tastes thin and you want weight, KONFLUX or JAMM are the relevant profiles instead.
How it differs from the core APAX range
Two things stand out. First, it is a finished recipe rather than a building block: there is nothing to blend, only a dose to set. Second, the formulation is magnesium-led and includes magnesium sulfate and magnesium citrate, with no calcium salt in the ingredient list. Sulfate is generally associated with perceived brightness and aroma separation, which lines up with what the profile is aiming at. It also explains the lower dose rate: 1.5 to 2.5 g/L here against 3 to 4 g/L for the core concentrates.
How to use it
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. Either dose 1.5 to 2.5 g per litre of distilled or demineralised water for a full brew setup, or add 1 to 2 drops directly into a finished 200 mL cup, which is the easiest way to taste the effect side by side against an untreated brew. APAX state the concentrate is not intended for direct consumption in undiluted form, and that it should not be used inside espresso machines. Dosing into the cup after extraction is fine; putting mineral-loaded water through a boiler is not.
