The G-IOTA DF64 Gen 2 is a single dose grinder with 64 mm flat burrs, for home baristas who switch between espresso and filter. You weigh out one dose, grind it, and almost nothing stays behind in the grinder, so the next coffee starts clean.
The same grinder is sold elsewhere as the DF64 II, Turin DF64 and MiiCoffee DF64 II. Gen 2 added a plasma generator in the chute against static, an anti-popcorn disc that stops beans bouncing out, and a metal dosing cup. Because 64 mm is a common burr size, there is a wide choice of aftermarket burrs if you want to change the flavour profile later.

How single dosing works on the DF64
Instead of a large hopper, the DF64 takes one weighed dose at a time. The beans land on an anti-popcorn disc, which stops them jumping back out and helps them feed into the burrs faster. On the way out, the ground coffee passes a plasma generator in the exit chute that reduces static, so less coffee clings to the chute and the cup. A few presses on the bellows then clear what is left in the grinding chamber.
The upper burr carrier sits on three seating points with a wave spring, which keeps the burrs stable. The top unscrews by hand, so you can reach the burrs for cleaning without tools.
DF64 or DF54?
The DF54 is the smaller, cheaper sibling built on the same design. Both are stepless single dosers that handle espresso and filter, so the choice comes down to how you brew. The DF64 grinds faster, holds a bigger dose, and its 64 mm burrs can be swapped for aftermarket sets such as the SSP 64mm Multi Purpose burrs if you want to change the flavour profile later. The DF54 makes more sense if you mostly make one or two coffees a day and want a smaller grinder on the counter.

I am pretty satisfied with the Gen 2. There are no retention issues, it feels solid, and it has delivered great tasting espresso. Unfortunately, the burrs weren’t perfectly aligned from the factory, so I’m currently trying to adjust them manually, which lowers my rating.
