Built for clarity

The Filter geometry is LeBrew’s low-fines design for 64 mm grinders. Fewer fines means less over-extracted material in the brew bed, so pour over and batch brew taste cleaner and more defined, with acidity and fruit notes coming through clearly. The trade-off is body: espresso from these burrs is lighter and more transparent than from a Sweet or espresso-focused set.

Like the rest of the HyperBurrs range, they are CNC machined from DC53 cold work tool steel (Cr8Mo2SiV), hardened to 60 to 62 HRC and coated with a roughly 3 µm layer of TiAlN. LeBrew rates them for 1,500 to 2,000 kg of coffee.

LeBrew Filter or LeBrew Sweet?

Choose the Filter set if most of what you grind is filter coffee and you like a clean, articulate cup, especially with light roasts. Choose the Sweet set if you split your time between espresso and filter, or prefer more body. For a filter-only grinder there is also the SSP 64mm Cast Lab Sweet, a cast set at a higher price that goes for sweetness and texture rather than maximum clarity.

Will it fit my grinder?

This is the screw-mounted version, with holes in the burr face, for grinders that bolt their 64 mm burrs to the carrier. LeBrew has tested it in the Fellow Ode (Gen 1 and Gen 2), DF64 (including the DF64V and CF64), Timemore Sculptor 064S, Option-O Lagom P64, Mazzer Super Jolly and Mini, Fiorenzato F4E and F64E, Eureka Single Dose Brew and Acaia Orbit, among others.

Two things to check: on the Fellow Ode Gen 1, only grinders from the Q4 2021 batch onward take these burrs, and the Sculptor 064 (without the S) is not on the list. Blind-burr grinders such as the Zerno Z1 need a different version.

After fitting, re-zero the grinder and expect the cup to settle over the first kilo or two as the new edges bed in.
