What the brush does

Femobook’s rechargeable grinders are built like a manual grinder with a motor attached: the coffee falls straight down out of the conical burr into the catch cup, with no dosing chute for grounds to collect in. The last place fines can cling is the underside of the inner burr, so Femobook fits a small brush there, held in place by a magnet. As the burr turns, the bristles sweep that surface clean, which is a big part of why these grinders retain so little coffee between doses.

Because the brush is only held by magnets it is easy to lose when you pull the grinder apart to clean it, and like any brush the bristles eventually wear. This is the same part Femobook lists as the A5 magnetic brush set, sold on its own.

Which grinders it fits

Femobook lists this brush for the A5, and it fits the A4Z and A3 in the same way, since all three share the same body and burr assembly. The A68 uses a separate, larger brush set, and the A2 is a different design, so this part is not for those two.

Fitting it

Twist off the catch cup, remove the burr assembly as you would for cleaning, and press the brush onto its magnetic seat under the inner burr. Blow or brush out any old fines first so the magnet seats flat. Reassembly is the same as after a normal clean.
