SSP’s 80 mm flat burrs in the blind format, for grinders that hold their burrs without screws through the cutting face: the Option-O Lagom P80, Weber Workshops EG-1 and Zerno Z2. Two sets are available: High Uniformity (HU) with Red Speed coating, and Low Uniformity (LU) with Silver Knight coating.
HU is the all-rounder, giving espresso with body and a long finish while still grinding well for filter. LU is the filter set: it makes fewer fines for a cleaner, more separated cup, and its lower-friction Silver Knight coating trims fines a little further.

Blind mount: what it fits
Most 80 mm burrs are bolted to their carriers with screws through the grinding face. Blind burrs are fixed from behind, so the whole face does the grinding and there are no screw holes for grounds to collect in. Blind and screw-mount 80 mm burrs are not interchangeable, and there is more than one blind format: the Mahlkönig Tanzania and Ditting 805 take their own two-pin blind burr, which is a different part. This set is the blind format used by the Weber Workshops EG-1, and SSP lists it for the Option-O Lagom P80 and the Zerno Z2 as well.
HU or LU?
The two sets share diameter and mounting but are tuned for different jobs. HU (High Uniformity) keeps a controlled amount of fines for body, which makes it the safer pick if you pull espresso most days and brew filter now and then: shots come out thick and sweet with a long finish, and filter is balanced rather than sharply acidic. It is the same geometry Weber uses for its EG-1 Ultra burrs. LU (Low Uniformity) produces fewer fines, so filter brews drain faster and taste cleaner, with more separation between flavours. It can grind for espresso, but it is less forgiving there than HU.
The coatings follow the same split. Red Speed (TiAlCN) is SSP’s hard-wearing standard coating and the usual choice for espresso. Silver Knight has a lower friction coefficient, which cuts fines slightly further and suits the filter focus of the LU set.
Fitting them in the Lagom P80
The Option-O Lagom P80 comes with Option-O’s own Mizen 80 mm burrs, and its burr carriers are machined to tight tolerances, so only burrs made slightly under 80 mm fit. SSP has confirmed its blind 80 mm sets for the P80. Lift the old burrs out with magnets rather than prying, clean the carriers, then re-zero the grinder after fitting and expect the taste to settle over the first few kilos. With any aftermarket burr set, starting the motor before adding beans lowers the risk of stalling on very light roasts.
