1,800 local farmers deliver their coffee cherries to the Ngogomo washing. Each farmer has, on average, around 250 trees. The washing station has 10 fermentation tanks, 3 doaking tanks, and 258 drying tables and processes around 1,500 tonnes of coffee each year. Ngogomo washing station processes coffee from April to June. Due to strict government regulation, all coffee trees in Burundi are Red Bourbon variety.
