What this part is

The water tank is the one component on an espresso machine that gets handled every day, and it is usually the first thing to crack, craze or go permanently cloudy. This is the factory replacement for the Profitec GO: the narrow 2.8 litre tank body with the adapter assembly and seals already fitted, so it goes straight back into the machine without transferring parts across from the old one.

Why there is no float in this tank

The GO does not use a reed contact for low water shutoff the way the Pro 300 and larger Profitec machines do, which is why the float and stopper are absent here. That also means this tank is not interchangeable with the P9010.BK1 tank fitted to the Pro 300 to Pro 600, even though the two look almost identical on the shelf. Worth knowing if you are ordering by eye rather than by part number.

Water, filters and scale

Current tanks ship with the plug-in adapter that takes the ECM AquaAroma Crema in-tank filter cartridge. Note that the GO reads its water level electronically rather than mechanically, so fully demineralised water (reverse osmosis or zero-TDS output) can leave the machine reading an empty tank even when it is full. Use filtered or remineralised water instead. If you are pulling the tank anyway, it is a sensible moment to run a descale with the Cafetto Organic Liquid Descaler before the new tank goes in, so you are not feeding clean water into a scaled boiler. The tank itself is the same one used by the current Profitec GO 2.0.
