A small stainless steel mesh filter that sits between the two Parker Legris push fittings in the Cafelat Robot Barista’s pressure gauge line. Its job is to stop espresso and coffee grounds from creeping into the gauge mechanism, where they would clog it and make readings unreliable.

Overview
This is the small stainless mesh filter that protects the pressure gauge on the Cafelat Robot Barista. It sits in line between the two Parker Legris push-fit fittings, one on the piston, one on the gauge, and acts as a final barrier against any espresso or coffee fines that try to migrate up the flexible tube. Without it, the gauge slowly clogs and stops giving accurate pressure readings.
When you actually need this
The mesh filter is small and easy to misplace during disassembly, so the most common reason to order one is simply that the original got lost when the gauge system was last opened up. The other reason is a clogged or damaged filter, usually from coffee debris built up over time. If your gauge has started reading erratically or sluggishly, checking and cleaning or replacing the mesh filter is the cheapest fix to try before suspecting the gauge itself.
