Product details
The RAVN 51mm espresso puck screen is a high-quality, 316L stainless steel screen that helps to prevent channeling and improve the extraction of espresso
Using a puck screen while making espresso has the following advantages:
- Prevents channeling: Espresso puck screens help to prevent channeling, which is a problem that occurs when water flows through the coffee puck in uneven channels, instead of evenly distributing throughout the puck. This can lead to a sour or bitter taste in the espresso.
- Improves extraction: Espresso puck screens can help to improve the extraction by ensuring that the water is evenly distributed throughout the puck. This allows the water to extract more evenly from the coffee grounds, resulting in a more flavorful espresso.
- Reduces mess: Espresso puck screens protect the shower screen from having direct contact with the espresso grounds.
- Easy to use: Espresso puck screens are very easy to use. Simply place the screen on top of the coffee grounds in the portafilter after tamping.
Fits portafilters with a 51mm diameter

Very nice, as described, it reduces the mess on the shower screen and also reduces the risk of channeling. Works well with my Picopresso basket although it is a bit too tight for the Hugh competition basket.
