The O1 shape with more room
The O2 uses the same one-piece Tritan construction and OPEN bottom as the O1, with a taller body for bigger brews. Where the O1 is built around single cups of 10 to 18 g, the O2 is designed for 12 to 28 g, which covers a large mug or a pot for two. The 3 mm+ wall insulates the slurry, and at 67 g it is still light enough to pack for a trip.
Wave or flat filters
Wave papers are the simplest option: drop one in and brew. They allow more bypass and form a narrower bed, which usually gives a lighter, less concentrated cup. Flat papers sit on the ridge of the OPEN bottom and, shaped with a narrow negotiator, follow the walls so more water passes through the coffee instead of around it. OREA links this to sweeter, fuller cups. For an easy start, the OREA 185 Wave Filter Paper fits as it is.
O2 or Z1?
Both are OREA brewers, but they aim at different cups. The O2 leans toward acidity and clarity with a lighter body, and it uses standard 185 papers, so filters are easy to find. The Z1 is a zero-bypass brewer with its own dedicated filter and gives a heavier, rounder body. If you already brew on an O1 and want more capacity, the O2 is the direct step up.
