The Profitec GO 2.0 is a compact 58 mm single boiler espresso machine built in Germany. This version has a brushed stainless steel housing instead of the black and coloured finishes of the standard range. Underneath it is the same machine: a PID-controlled brass boiler behind a ring brew group, ready to brew about 7 minutes from a cold start.

The GO 2.0 in brushed stainless steel
Profitec keeps the brushed stainless steel GO for its Exclusive Line dealers, which is why you find it in showrooms rather than web shops. Inside nothing changes: the insulated 0.3 L brass boiler, the 58 mm ring brew group Profitec also uses on the Pro 300, the vibration pump with an externally adjustable expansion valve, and PID temperature control. Brushed steel hides fingerprints and light marks well, and it sits easily next to other stainless steel gear on the counter.
What the 2.0 update brings
The 2.0 revision kept the hydraulics of the original GO and rebuilt everything you touch. An OLED display shows the shot timer and settings, the two LED-lit brew buttons are programmable by time, pre-infusion is selectable, and hot water now comes through the steam wand for Americanos and tea. Upkeep is guided too: an automatic group cleaning cycle, a descaling program, automatic cool-down after steaming, and a running shot is finished before the machine stops when the tank runs low.
Who it suits
A single boiler brews or steams, not both at once. For a milk drink you pull the shot, wait about 30 seconds for steam, froth, then let the boiler come back down to brew temperature, which the GO 2.0 speeds up by refilling with cold water automatically. That works well for espresso, Americanos and the occasional cappuccino. If several milk drinks back to back is a normal morning in your house, a heat exchanger or dual boiler is the better fit.
The brew buttons dose by time, not by weight, so grind changes show up directly in the cup. A scale under the cup and a grinder with fine, repeatable adjustment, such as the Option-O Lagom P80, make dialling in much easier.
