What it is for
This is the smallest jug in Loveramics’ Brewers glass range, made from the same thick borosilicate glass as the 500 ml jugs. At 100 ml it holds a double shot with room to spare, which makes it a practical vessel to pull espresso into when you want to pour it somewhere else: over cold milk for an iced latte or a dirty, over a scoop of ice cream for an affogato, or into tonic water. Cafés use it to serve espresso on the side so the customer can add it themselves. It also works as a small jug for milk, cream or syrup.
Shot jug or shot glass?
A shot glass with measuring lines is the better choice if you check your yield by volume. This jug has no measuring marks, so pair it with a scale if you dial in by weight, such as the BOOKOO Themis Mini Coffee Scale, which is small enough to sit on the drip tray. What the jug adds is the spout, which lets you pour the shot cleanly instead of tipping it out of a straight-sided glass, and a little more room for doubles.
