What this part is

The drip tray is the reservoir under the grid on the Profitec GO. Everything that leaves the group and the steam wand ends up here, which over a few years adds up to a lot of hot water, coffee oils and milk. Trays get replaced for three reasons: a crack, a deformed corner that stops the tray sitting flat in its holder, or staining and scale that has gone past what cleaning will fix.

Check which tray your GO has

The GO used this single metal tray from launch. From 2025 Profitec changed to a two-part design, a deeper plastic lower tray with a separate metal grill, which added roughly 250 ml of capacity, a cutout aligned with the steam wand, and two corner cutouts that make emptying less messy. The change addressed durability, since the original metal tray can crack with age. Look at the underside of your tray: metal throughout means this part. A plastic base means your machine takes the newer pair instead. The two designs share nothing.

Tray, grid and holder

Profitec splits this area of the machine into three parts. This listing is the tray itself. The grid that your cups rest on is part P9069, ordered separately, and most people replacing one eventually want the other. The holder underneath, the fixed bracket the tray slides into, is bolted to the chassis and is not a part that comes out in normal use.

Cleaning and upkeep

Emptying and rinsing the tray daily prevents the sour smell that develops once milk and coffee sit in standing water. For a tray that has already discoloured, an overnight soak in a solution made from Cafetto EVO cleaning powder lifts the film that washing-up liquid leaves behind, and doing that a few times a year keeps a tray presentable for the life of the machine.
