The cocoa beans for this chocolate are sourced from Kokoa Kamili in Tanzania, a producer known for its quality and commitment. The processing station is situated in the small village of Mbingu, a remote location accessible by a twelve-hour journey through dusty roads from Dar Es Salaam. Svenska Kakao has been in partnership with Kokoa Kamili since 2016, ensuring a consistent supply of premium beans.

This chocolate’s unique flavor profile has been internationally recognized, earning a silver medal at the World Chocolate (WC) and a bronze medal at the European Chocolate (EC) categories in the International Chocolate Awards in 2018.

The uniqueness of Svenska Kakao’s chocolate comes from Ulrika and Fredrik’s hands-on approach in selecting the finest cocoa beans worldwide. They focus on quality, sustainability, transparency, fair pricing, and exceptional taste. Crafted by a small team of skilled chocolatiers in their Österlen factory, their chocolates have garnered international acclaim, winning several prizes and being featured in star restaurants and prestigious department stores like Isetan in Tokyo, Lafayette in Paris, and KaDeWe in Berlin.
