The Option-O Lagom P80 is a high-performance, single-dose coffee grinder designed to bridge the gap between enthusiast-grade home equipment and commercial-grade precision. It utilizes 80mm “blind” flat burrs and a high-torque brushless motor to deliver consistent particle distribution across the entire brewing spectrum, from espresso to coarse filter coffee.

80mm Mizen Blind Burrs

The P80 is equipped with Mizen 80OM flat burrs. These are “blind” burrs, meaning they utilize a screw-less mounting system. This design increases the effective grinding surface area and eliminates the recesses where coffee grounds typically accumulate. The system includes an Integrated Pre-Crushing System (PCS) that breaks down beans before they enter the final grind stage, improving consistency and reducing the load on the motor.

Precision Workflow and Retention

The grinder is engineered for low-retention performance, aiming for a variance of less than 0.1g. Key workflow features include:

• Auto-Purge Function: The motor automatically increases RPM at the end of the grind cycle to clear the internal chamber.
• Torque-Sensing Auto-Stop: Sensors detect when the grinding chamber is empty and automatically shut down the motor.
• Magnetic Calibration: The tool-free burr mounting system allows for easy cleaning without losing the user’s zero-point calibration.

Variable RPM Control

A dedicated dial allows users to adjust the motor speed from 300 to 1,700 RPM. This allows for the manipulation of particle fines and flavor texture; lower speeds typically favor high-clarity filter profiles, while higher speeds can increase body for traditional espresso textures.
