This exquisite dark chocolate bar is made from the finest Criollo cacao beans, organically grown and Fairtrade certified, from the lush Amazon region of Peru. These beans are cultivated by the Awajun farmers along the banks of the Cenepa and Rio Santiago rivers, deep within the Amazon rainforest. They are integral members of the NorAndino cooperative, a collective of around 5000 members, including 1800 dedicated cocoa farmers, spread across the diverse landscapes of northern Peru.

In collaboration with NorAndino, we are engaged in a special project to elevate the quality and sustainability of cocoa production. A significant portion of the cocoa harvest is processed in NorAndino’s own state-of-the-art facility in Peru. This factory, larger and more modern than our Amsterdam facility, focuses on producing high-quality organic and Fairtrade cocoa mass. Looking ahead, this initiative will empower NorAndino to craft their own chocolate, bringing the full cycle of chocolate production closer to its roots.
