About us
Your Favorite Coffee Subscription
KaffeBox is a monthly specialty coffee subscription featuring the top roasters in Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden Denmark). We exclusively feature roasters with a light “Scandinavian Style” roast profile, as we want you to be able to taste the terroir and cultivar that make each lot of beans unique. Each month throughout the year KaffeBox features a new small batch roaster with two unique coffee origins.
Team KaffeBox
Behind KaffeBox is a small team of curious, coffee-loving people who care about good taste and doing things properly. Every customer service conversation, selected coffee, and roastery collaboration is handled by real humans who genuinely love what they do.
KaffeBox started out on Tyler’s kitchen counter, where he packed the first Kaffeboxes by hand and box by box built up a small, independent coffee company.
What began as a one-person project has grown into a team of four. We work out of cool, retro-industrial offices right by the highway in Sarpsborg, Norway. Picture an office space with most furniture found on Finn.no, (tracked down and rescued by Tyler, our in-house Finn.no wizard), and a pleasant coffee aroma that drifts all the way out to the parking lot.
Together, we share a love for great coffee and the people behind it, and we want to make specialty coffee feel simple, honest, and enjoyable. Some of us bring calm and order, others bring ideas and curiosity, and between us, it all just works.
Get in touch
We each do very different things, and together we make it all work:
Tyler wears many hats at KaffeBox, IT, accounting, equipment purchasing, strategy, and a bit of everything else that keeps things moving behind the scenes.
He thrives on variety, whether that means tasting coffees from new origins or solving unexpected challenges. He’s the one you want nearby when something breaks, doesn’t exist yet, or could be improved.
Josephine is our friendly link to customers, the one making sure everyone who writes gets a real answer from a real person. She’s also the most unpredictable breakfast eater in the group (it’s not unusual for her to show up with a burger or gummy candy before 9 a.m.). Somehow, she makes multitasking between family life, coffee life, and inbox life look easy.
Børge keeps our warehouse and coffee purchases in order, with a steady hand and a love for structure. He is the person making sure KaffeBox always has the best coffees ready to go out the door. He’s also the kind of person who can build things out of thin air. If we mention a new shelf system, give him an hour and he’ll have made it.
Lene is the person behind KaffeBox’s words, stories, and (probably) your latest newsletter.
She loves proper sized coffee mugs, and drinks her coffee by the bucket (expensive, tiny tasting cups are not her thing).
We work hard, laugh often, and drink a loot of coffee, all to bring you your next favorite cup.
What’s your go-to coffee order?
Variety. I love variety. If it was in a cafe I’d pick the baristas recommendation. That said I love juicy fruity coffees.
Iced latte without sugar, or warm (we’re talking scalding for other people) specialty coffee.
I’ll go for the African, I love the fruity and juicy notes.
Today’s coffee if it’s light roasted and fruity. Preferably as a pour over.
How do you take your coffee when no one’s watching? (honest answers only 😅)
umm. .there is only one right answer here. Freshly brewed, wait, drink.
Honestly, I only drink coffee when I’m with other people, I never brew coffee for myself when I’m home/alone.
Black pour-over at 40 degrees exactly.
Huge amounts, we have these tiny lil cups at KaffeBox. I know specialty coffee drinkers are supposed to enjoy their one little thimble of coffee, but to be honest I need something like 0.5L to get going.
Social responsibility
Purchasing goods from developing countries is one of the best ways to help support and build up a country. Coffee is a valuable resource many developing countries have, but it is important that it is sold at a fair, socially responsible price. Social responsibility, traceability and quality are three key ingredients KaffeBox looks at when selecting which roasters to work with.
Get startedValues
As our story grows, our core values remain the same.
Freshly roasted
The coffee we ship is roasted specifically for KaffeBox. The micro-roasteries roast the coffee per our order and ship it to us immediately after. The coffee is no more than a day or two post roast when we ship it to you.
The best price
By running a subscription service, we are able to keep expenses low. We pass these savings onto the customer, offering a great price on a high quality product.
Ethically sourced
The roasteries we use have a direct dialogue with the coffee producer and ensure that the farmer and workers receive a high price for the green coffee beans.
No contracts
With one-click subscription cancellation, it’s simple to put your beans on hold or cancel your subscription entirely.
Top quality
We order coffee from well known, high quality micro-roasteries in Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden and Norway). A micro-roastery has the unique advantage of purchasing exceptionally high quality coffee lots, even when the lot size is very small.
Guaranteed
We take pride in the quality of coffee we ship and the roasters we collaborate with. If you are unhappy with the coffee you receive, let us know and we’ll refund your payment.
