Esmeralda Special Geisha is a selected selection of high-altitude Geisha (1600-1800 masl) with a cup score of over 90 points. The coffee comes mainly from the farms Jaramillo and Cañas Verde and is of the highest quality produced at Hacienda la Esmeralda. Although the elevation offers challenges for cultivation and harvesting, it is up in the mountains of Boquete that the unique floral and citrus aromas of this geisha coffee are developed.

Cup notes from Kaffa
Aroma dry: bergamot, jasmine, lemon
Aroma wet: lemonade, floral chocolate, hibiscus
Taste warm: Bergamot, green grape, lime zest, hibiscus, gooseberry, black tea, vinous and juicy acid.
Taste cool: Oily and pleasant mouthfeel, very elegant. Cascara, acacia honey and yellow plum.
The sibling couple Daniel and Rachel Peterson are the third generations of Swedish-Americans in Boquete. They started Hacienda La Esmeralda about 18 years ago without being aware of the amazing treasures that were there. In 2008, they decided to start holding private auctions of the exclusive species Geisha.
This is exceptional coffee from especially good coffee farmers!
For the past 20 years, Hacienda la Esmeralda has established itself as the best coffee producer in the world. Their lots of Geisha coffee are sold today at private auctions for thousands of kroner per lot.
